There are few things in TV life that Anthony and I agree on. Short of Scrubs, Modern Family and Community, we don't agree on anything. I love the spoilers, he loathes them. I find NCIS to be a great, often hilarious show whereas he thinks that they try to hard to make jokes and often teases me about how it's made for old people. Sidenote, this past Saturday I mentioned it and got a "What are you, 90?" response. He loves Lost and I can't be bothered. I haven't attempted Flash Forward, but considering the fact that it has a few Lost references in it, I doubt I'll get into it. That and the fact that it conflicts with Bones. BUT I will give it a try, because I'm willing to try anything once. And that's what I did this past Sunday.
Based on Anthony's recommendation (and the fact that everyone on my Facebook is obsessed with it) I decided to give Glee a shot. I sat down, popped on Hulu and turned on the very first episode. And with Jane Lynch's dead pan humor coming across in the first line (her review of a very well performed cheerleading routine being: "You think this is hard? Try being waterboarded. That's hard") I knew I was in for it. And after about 17 minutes my computer overheated and shut down. Now this has happened often, and eventually I'll bring it in and have Danny fix whatever is wrong with my nearly 6 year old baby. But I actually used it as an excuse to go buy a cooling system at Bed, Bath and Beyond. It worked and I spent the rest of my afternoon catching up on Glee. And Anthony, enjoy these words:
You. Were. Right.
Glee is absolutely hilarious and I love it. Last week's episode with Kristen Chenoweth was probably my absolute favorite, simply because I love her and have loved her since she played Glinda in Wicked. The show is witty and clever. I mean come on, when Josh Groban utters the line "Josh Groban loves a blousy alcoholic" I laughed for about 5 minutes. And as for Rachel...I alternate between liking her, feeling bad for her, and wanting to punch her in the face. That's a wide range of emotions to feel towards a single character, but the fact of the matter is that I feel them. And while I'm not off the wall obsessed with the show, I will say this it's a good thing to watch on Wednesday night and it's taken over my timeslot. I'll just Tivo Modern Family and watch SVU online. So Anthony, you can think my resentment for Lost tatses delicious but at least we have comedy in common and laughter makes the world go round.
