It was about 11:55 on Monday night when my phone gave its patented "beep beep beep beep"alerting me that I had a text message. I rolled over, barely conscious and clicked "View Now" only to see 4 little words from Keri: NCIS SEASON 6 TOMORROW! I, the avid NCIS devotee had forgotten all about it, but she having only recently gotten addicted to the show was all set. So at lunch, we headed to Target and I bought it because I had to. It's NCIS! We ripped it open in the car, she immediately took hold of the first two discs (since she needs to get caught up) And the one thing that I was most looking forward to was the special features...they are as follows:
Cast and Crew commentaries on the following episodes:
Broken Bird-Actor David McCallum (Ducky) and Director James Whitmore Jr.
Bounce-Actor Michael Weatherly (Special Agent Tony DiNozzo)
Toxic-Actors Pauley Perrette (Abby Scuito) and Sean Murray (Special Agent Tomothy McGee)
In addition to that, to all of us hoping for good behind the scenes stuff, the DVDs don't disappoint. Here's what's on there:
Bodies of Work (Disc 1)
Actor Brian Dietzen (Jimmy Palmer) gives fans an inside look at how the makeup department makes those bodies look gorey and disgusting.
Fear: a DVD Exclusive (Disc 2)
Pauley Perrette's (Abby Scuito) acoustic version of her song Fear that appeared in the NCIS Season 6 finale, and on the NCIS: The Music Soundtrack.
Starting with a Bang (Disc 3)
An overview of the opening story arc in season 6, which broke up the team only to fish out a mole among them. Great comments by Liza Lapira (Michelle Lee) and the entire cast on this one, as well as insights from executive producers as to why they chose to leave fans hanging at the end of season 5.
Horsin' Around (Disc 5)
A behind the scenes look at the filming of the episode South by Southwest. Great comments by Mark Harmon (Gibbs), Michael Weatherly (DiNozzo) and insights from directors and stunt coordinator Diamond Farnsworth.
Season 6: Crusin' Along (Disc 6)
Funny and serious reflections from the cast and crew on the major storylines and events that occurred in season 6. Highlights include a half naked Michael Weatherly interrupting Brian Dietzen's interview (hilarious!) as well as cast members reflecting on special moments, character growth, ect. A MUST SEE for true NCIS fans!
Six Degrees of Conversation (Disc 6)
Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazer sits down with the cast as a group to talk about their favorite moments, the international fan following, the show's success and more. Highlights include Michael Weatherly making a hilarious retort about weight gain when asked about growth and Sean Murray admitting that German McGee frightens him.
All in all, I think the special features on this set outshine others in the past. The only thing I would have loved would be a blooper reel. Although, my day was made when I noticed that in several interviews crew members were wearing promotional embroidered caps. But again, that's because I'm a giant nerd who sees my work in everything I do. :)
So yes, go out and buy the season 6 DVDs. Because if you don't, how can you possibly be ready for this?

Sidenote, oh to be followed by LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell. I wish that would happen to me on the street.
