One of the very first viral videos that ever made it's way around the internet was the classic known as the "Numa Numa Guy." The video featured a guy by the name of Gary Brolsma, from New Jersey dancing interpretively (I guess you could call it that) to a song called "Dragostea din tei" by Moldovan pop band O-Zone. Since the video's debut in 2004, it has become the second most viewed web video ever with over 700 million views. I remember seeing it years ago, and most recently the original song has been sampled by artist, Rihanna, in her song "Live Your Life" featuring rapper T.I. Just last week Carolina and I were listening to that song, and I heard it yesterday on the way home. I found myself singing "myy yahhee, my yaha" for a few hours, until I finally got it out of my head.
By 8:15 however, it was right back in there. NCIS (the best show that you're probably not watching) had a Halloween episode last night, the premise of which was that a serial killer left clues about his next victim posted in online videos. Of course, the technologically impraired Gibbs didn't understand the purpose of online videos and his loyal team attempted to explain. The best way was to show him and when McGee uttered the words "Numa Numa Guy" I knew I was in trouble. Up popped the original Numa Numa video, with Gary and his dancing and the song was stuck right back in my head. Warning: This song will get stuck in your head and this will be one of the stupidest things you've ever seen. But we can't truly be a video blog without a shout out to old Gary.

However, the greatest moment of my evening was not that scene it was my mother's excitement when she realized that it was indeed a real song. To quote her: "It's real! I thought you were just yodeling!"
