Last Tuesday, I randomly proclaimed "I think I'm going to be a vegetarian. But only for like a month." If you've met me you know that I occasionally come up with cockamamie ideas like this and then never follow through. But this vegetarian thing, I am doing just to prove to myself that I can. (8 days so far!) I will incorporate meat back into my life in October and I know what you're all thinking: what the hell does this have to do with TV? Well in addition to giving up meat...I'm giving up spoilers.
After Anthony's realization that Lost and NCIS are in two COMPLETELY different categories, we realized that we couldn't do a Lost vs. NCIS podcast. We ended up talking about spoilers and came to the conclusion that we should do a spoiler vs. non spoiler debate. He is ANTI spoilers and I am ALL for them, which I've already blogged about and while that can make for some fun podcasting, I think my current pickle situation will be even better. So here's my current predicament:
Bones premieres tomorrow and I have spoiled myself BEYOND belief. In fact, in my original spoiler blog I mentioned a "possible spoiler" that Hart Hanson may have put out there just to identify leaks. Well he didn't and I know it actually happens. I also have already seen a Booth scene with Sweets, a Brennan scene with Angela, some Booth stuff with Cam, Brennan, Angela and the special guest star...and the much anticipated Bones and Booth reunion. I know the whole plot because I've read the casting sides (pieces of the script that are given to actors auditioning for guest spots) and I can't remember at the moment but I might know who the killer is. I do know who the killer ISN'T and that of course is also a spoiler. So I know pretty much everything, and I'm just waiting to see it be acted in front of me.
And in the other corner, we've got NCIS, which I know didly squat about. In fact, Spoiler Fix.com pulled their section of NCIS spoilers because their source had dried up. All I know of the premiere is one teeny little subplot and that's about it. And just what Shane Brennan, the executive producer has said regarding it. But whereas Hart Hanson will give more details away Brennan's only comment was: "People are going to watch the first 5 minutes and say, 'Did that really just happen?" That's about it. That's all I've got going on.
So I made a deal with Anthony that should anymore Bones spoilers come out between tonight and tomorrow (short of the epsiode being put on youtube, which might happen since it's airing in Canada tonight and full episode recaps), I will indulge. But should anymore NCIS spoilers come out, I will refrain. It's like being lacto-ova spoilertarian. And already I feel like I've made a deal with the devil. Fox put up new content, including cast interviews on the Bones website and I watched them. What if CBS does the same thing? What if it's an interview with Sean Murray talking about the future of McGee and Abby? What will I do??
It'd be easier if it wasn't for twitter. Following SpoilerTV and a bunch of NCIS addicts gives me primo access to spoilers. It's like someone walking in here and dangling a chicken leg in my face and going "It's right here...come and get it. One little chicken leg won't hurt you." NCIS spoilers are like my chicken legs. Deliciously unatainable for an extended peiod of time. Granted it's only until Tuesday because I can't quit spoilers cold turkey (mmm turkey), but still once the season premiere of Bones is over tomorrow I won't have anything to do but wait for Tuesday.
So I apologize to anyone if I'm overly cranky. It's my meat-free, spoiler-free lifestyle.
Is it Tuesday yet? *twitches*
