One of Fox News' most infamous personalities, Glenn Beck, announced yesterday that he will be leaving cable television. He spent his last episode recounting the successes of his show's last two years. According to Patrick Tricker's CBS News article, "He bragged about having two writers compared to John Stewart's 15, about using chalkboards while CNN used 'holographic hookers' and high ratings for the 5 p.m. cable time slot."

There was apparently some speculation as to whether Beck was fired or resigned from his position on the popular Fox News program. "Responding to speculation he had been fired, Beck stated he quit, and intended to move from focusing on the problems to working for a solution," reported Tricker. So what is Beck's next move?
Now that Beck is officially off of cable television, he's moved on to a web television venture. The project, called GBTV, features a similar format to his Fox News TV show. According to a CNN blog on the topic, "The new medium for a daily dose of Beck will premier as a two-hour web show starting in September."
Will Beck find as much success on the Web as he did on television sets? We're excited to see how this all pans out, especially considering the fact that his fan base is generally made up of an older audience who may not be as tech-savvy as he'd hope.
