The Muppet Christmas Carol is something that I remember watching years ago and there's one part that has always stuck out in my mind. Everyone that entered the house was warned after the fact to "Be careful of the icy patch." I remember sitting in my old house on the couch when I was about 7 years old watching this movie for the first time and laughing hysterically anytime one of the muppets fell. I think it's because of this movie that I usually laugh when people fall on the ice. I don't do it to be mean and I will be the first to help someone up if they take a tumble, but there's just something about someone flailing wildly and trying to get their footing that makes me lose it. I thought of this movie yesterday when I myself took the world's greatest spill. I was stepping up onto my deck and hit the icy patch. Somehow I managed to get my other foot to the top step while still in "slip-mode" and found yet another icy patch. Watch Miss Piggy's fall at the end of this video and you'll have some idea what it looked like. Also comparable: the Swedish chef's fall. I however was not holding a turkey. I could have, however, used some promotional first aid kits yesterday.
