It may be dangerous to admit for my first entry on this blog but...I love Heroes. I know I shouldn't, at least not anymore, but I still do. Once upon a time everything seemed so bright for Heroes. A few years ago before the show premiered NBC went on an advertising blitz to promote the show. At the risk of angering most of this office, it was supposed to be the next "Lost. Early on, it looked like it would live up to that billing. Six words made the show a cultural phenomenon, say it with me:
Save The Cheerleader, Save the World.
6 words that had its own promotional t-shirts, promotional buttons, promotional mugs, Heroes was everywhere!
Sigh, that feels like ages ago. Its first season it was hailed by tv critics around the country, claiming it saved NBC Network and would thrive for years to come. Unfortunately it has been up and down since the last episode of the first season. Without getting into too much plot detail Heroes has not been able to keep the same continued suspense, excitement and basic long term story interest. We are now in Season 3 and there are still good episodes but overall the magic from Season 1 is long gone. Still though as long as Heroes is on I will keep watching hoping one day it will catch fire once again.
